Autonomy Readiness Assessment

Autonomous equipment is becoming an increasingly common part of golf course and sports turf operations, but every property is starting from a different place. Some facilities are well positioned to adopt new technology today, while others may benefit from strengthening their operational foundation first.

This assessment is designed to provide an objective starting point. Through 24 questions across six operational areas, you'll receive an overall Autonomy Readiness Score along with guidance to help you better understand where your operation stands today. A lower score doesn't mean autonomy isn't right for your facility. It simply highlights opportunities that may improve future implementation.

This is the first assessment in the developing Turf Operations Assessment Framework, a series of practical tools intended to help turf managers evaluate and improve different aspects of their operation over time. My goal isn't to tell you what decisions to make, but to provide a framework that helps you make them with greater confidence.


The assessment takes about 5 to 10 minutes to complete.

This assessment is Version 1 of an evolving framework.

As more turf professionals use it and provide feedback, the questions, scoring, and recommendations will continue to improve.
